CK Records Drop CK Clash VOL007 With Heavyweight Drum & Bass Selections

Manchester-based drum & bass producer DJ Direkt returns with a powerful two-track release on CK Records, delivering a pair of dark, aggressive club weapons titled Who We Are and Kian. Known for letting his music speak louder than words, DJ Direkt continues to build his reputation across the underground scene with a signature sound he describes as “scraping metal.”
DJ Direkt has already made his mark with releases on respected labels including 24 Karat, Grid Recordings UK, Kevlar Beats, Sub-liminal Recordings, and Zombie Recordings UK. Now, CK Records has secured two fresh cuts from the Manchester producer, further showcasing his uncompromising approach to drum & bass production.
Although Direkt jokingly claims his influences include pop icons like ABBA and Boney M., the ferocious low-end and sharp percussion in his music tell a very different story. His productions are built around aggressive drums, heavy basslines, and a raw sonic edge designed for late-night dance floors.
Who We Are makes an immediate statement with a cutting lead bassline that slices through the mix. The track is powered by hard-hitting 808s that deliver serious weight and punch, driving a relentless rhythm from start to finish. With its dark atmosphere and uncompromising energy, the track is built for peak-time drum & bass sets where intensity and pressure dominate.
While Kian retains the heavy low-end impact DJ Direkt is known for, it offers a different perspective on his sound. The track introduces a more groove-led, bouncy rhythm while still anchored by powerful 808 bass. This combination creates a lighter, more playful dynamic without sacrificing the strength needed to move a dance floor.
This two-track release highlights the range within DJ Direkt’s production style. Who We Are opens with a confrontational bass lead before dropping into thunderous low-end pressure, while Kian explores a rolling, groove-driven rhythm that adds contrast to the release.
Both tracks balance raw intensity with rhythmic movement, making them well suited for late-night drum & bass sets where heavy basslines and driving percussion take center stage.
“Who We Are came to me after I ate some crackers with cheese n pickle on.”
