CK Records, founded in 2024 by long-time collaborators DJ Komatose and Captain Apathy, is more than just another addition to the Midlands scene—it’s a purpose-driven platform built by artists, for artists.

With years of experience in music production, live performance, and content creation, DJ Komatose and Captain Apathy have always lived and breathed the drum & bass culture. But when they suddenly lost access to the studio space that had fueled their creative output, they were forced to rethink their entire approach. What started as a setback quickly became an opportunity—and out of that creative crossroads, CK Records was born.

“Our goal isn’t to be just another small label,” says DJ Komatose. “We want to be the record label that puts the Midlands on the map. One that backs artists, maximises their opportunities, and pays them fairly for their work.”

CK Records is built on a foundation of fairness, transparency, and real-world experience. Having spent years navigating the highs and lows of the music industry, both founders understand the challenges artists face—especially in a digital landscape where streaming royalties often fall short. “We know how hard it is to make a living doing what you love,” adds Captain Apathy. “And we’re here to change that. We do things differently.”

With a commitment to artist-first values, CK Records is launching with the goal of empowering a new wave of drum & bass talent—not just creatively, but financially and professionally.
