Our Story

CK Records is a brand new Record Label specialising in Drum & Bass music.

Koma and the Captain love music. With years of experience in making music, live performance and production, during 2024 Captain and Koma found themselves suddenly without access to the studio they`d been using to create live content. After a lot of soul-searching, some brainstorming, a whole load of ideas about studios and business plans...they decided to create a Record Label - as this was the best way to manage all of those things, while still creating content, and hopefully turn the industry on its head while doing it! We don`t want to be just another small record label from the Midlands, we want to be THE record label from the Midlands. THE record label that maximises returns for our artists by fully exploring the opportunities available to them. THE record label that fairly rewards our artists for THEIR work. THE record label that gives artists what THEY want.

But not just any record label.

We know first hand how hard it is to get to a point where you can make money to support your art. We know how small the spotify rewards are compared to the work you put in. We do things a bit differently.

    We understand that music sales will not be the driving factor in earning money. We will give each artist the opportunity to sell their own branded merchandise and take home the lion share of the profits

While we`re going to release music the `normal` way... releasing on the usual digital platforms.. we want to work that bit harder to maximise revenues for our artists. We believe that mechanical royalties for our artists are equally as important, if not more important, than traditional performance royalties and can turn what was once a `badly paid hobby` into a way of actually making real money from your art.
